Description

The churchyard walls belonging to the Upper Church of St Peter were built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from large, roughly shaped sandstone blocks arranged in rough courses, topped with weathered ashlar coping. There are original gateways located directly opposite the north porch and the west tower doorway, featuring square section piers with low pyramid caps. Additionally, secondary openings have been created in the north and south walls. These walls enclose a very small churchyard.
