Description

Sunninglye Barn is a barn that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th century. The exterior is clad in weatherboarding and features two cart openings, topped by a hipped roof that is now covered in corrugated iron sheeting. Inside, the barn has stays of crown post construction, each supported by two head braces and curved down braces leading to the beam. There is also a collar beam, and some of the rafters appear to be from the 18th century. The wall frame includes a mid rail, with some curved tension braces and some 18th-century diagonal braces.
