Description
The Old House is a late 18th-century building located on the north side of Mill Lane. It is constructed of grey blue brick with red brick dressings and features a brick eaves cornice and a hipped old tiled roof. The house has two storeys and three windows, all of which are sashes with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are bowed sashes on either side of a central doorway. The doorway is framed by an architrave that includes a frieze, cornice, and pediment. The house is set in an attractive location by the river and weirs. The Old House, along with Kingfishers and Mulberry Cottage, forms a group with Pool House.
