Description
Nos 4 and 5 on Dorset Street are 18th century buildings featuring a red brick elevation with a parapet and a ridge tile roof that is half hipped to the right. The structure has a three-window facade and stands two storeys tall, with a small tiled dormer located in the centre. The ground floor includes shop fronts that have a painted brick surround and a stucco plinth. There is a half-glazed door from the 18th century in the centre, topped by a rectangular fanlight. Above the shop windows is a moulded wooden cornice and a long painted panel that displays the shop sign. The first floor contains three 18th century sash windows with glazing bars, each featuring flat segmental brick arches above. There is also a small light in the centre. No 4 serves as a corner building where Dorset Street widens, displaying a painted brick elevation that faces west, along with a corner shop front and an 18th century sash window on the first floor. An attic window is present in the gable end. Nos 4 to 8B form a group.
