Description

Nos 8 and 8B on Dorset Street are late 18th-century buildings featuring a gabled elevation with a bowed front. They are two storeys high with an attic gable window. The ground floor has a Victorian shop front, which includes a central glazed door and an entablature band above that displays a shop sign. The first floor is bowed and has painted grooved boarding that mimics stone courses, with a central sash window that has glazing bars. The flat fronted gable above extends to the right and left, showcasing mock vertical half-timbering and a central attic casement window. To the right of the shop, there is a covered yard entrance, and the first floor is faced with pointed grooved boarding that also imitates stone courses, featuring a central casement window. The building has eaves and a gutter, and the roof is covered with ridge tiles.
