Description
Nos 11 and 13 on South Street are mid-18th century buildings made of red brick with a pitched tile roof. They feature red brick stacks adorned with diagonally placed brick modillions and stone slates at the eaves. The buildings are two storeys high with attics and have a cornice at the eaves that also includes diagonally placed brick modillions. On the first floor, there are three cased 19th-century sash windows. The ground floor has two 19th-century shopfronts, with No 11's shopfront showcasing elaborately moulded consoles and panelled pilasters. Additionally, there are three attic dormers, each with hipped tile roofs, tile-hung cheeks, and sash windows. Nos 9 to 19 (odd) form a group.
