Description

Old Seal House, which includes the former House of Seal Hairdressers, is a building dating from the 16th century or earlier. It features a restored framed structure with two storeys, where the first floor oversails at the corner and is supported on exposed joists. The ground floor showcases ornamental brickwork set in mortar to create an aged appearance. The first floor has exposed framing with vertical half-timbering and plaster infilling. The building has eaves and a tiled roof, along with modern lattice windows. The doors are made of oak paneling with glazing set in pointed "Gothic" panels. The entire structure has undergone significant restoration. Old Seal House and the adjacent properties numbered 37, 41, to 45 (odd) form a cohesive group.
