Description

Nos 14 and 16, known as The Post Office, date from the 18th century. The building is two storeys high, with three modern dormers set into the roof, which has a ridge tile roof with moulded boxed eaves and a decorative gutter. It is constructed of red brick, with a decorative brick course and a stone plinth. The ground floor features a square, projecting shop front to No. 16, built on a brick base and with wooden glazing bars. There is a glazed entrance door in the centre, and a continuous painted wooden band above displaying a shop sign. To the right of the shop front, at No. 14, is an 18th-century panelled door within a moulded frame, alongside a single sash window with bars. The first floor has five 18th-century sash windows with bars set within painted reveals.
