Description

The Crown Inn is likely a 16th-century framed structure that has undergone later changes to its exterior. It features four gable ends facing the street, with the two end gables displaying 18th-century painted weatherboarding. The two central gable ends have late 19th-century mock half-timbering and rendered infilling. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a window in the left gable end. The ground floor is rendered and includes two 19th-century projecting octagon bay windows with tiled roofs. In the center, there is a modern public house front with a casement window to the right. On the first floor, there are 19th-century casement windows with bars at either end, each with small bracketed hoods above. In the center, there are two modern sets of casements. The side elevation features painted brickwork and a projecting external chimney, along with a bracketed gutter and eaves. A modern inn sign and post are situated in front of the building.
