Description
The Old House at Home is a public house that dates back to the 16th century, with additions and alterations from the 18th and early 19th centuries. It features a timber frame and a tall tile roof, with a later extension added at the south end. The building has two storeys and four upper windows. The frame is exposed on the front (east) and the north gable, showcasing a jettied first floor at the front, which has infilling of roughcast, other rendering, and painted brickwork. The windows are early 19th-century casements, and there is a half-glazed door. The south side extension has two storeys and two windows, although the south side is now filled with brickwork. This section features blue header brick walling with red dressings, quoins, rubbed flat arches, and a plinth. Victorian sashes are present, along with a half-glazed door that has a plain hood.
