Description
No. 2 East Street is a Victorian commercial building dating from the late 19th century. It is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof. The front, which faces north, is classical and symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and five windows. The building has a modillion cornice and end pilasters that are rusticated up to the first floor, along with a band at the second floor. The openings are framed with architraves; the second floor has keys and cill brackets, while the first floor features a cornice above a cambered arch. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front. The side of the building that faces South Street maintains a general classical form, although it has plainer features.
