Description
No. 1 Newborough is a building from the mid to later 18th century that has undergone some alterations. It stands three storeys tall and is faced with stucco, featuring rusticated chamfered quoins. The building has a steeply pitched gable end slate roof and a deep moulded eaves cornice. There is a moulded band above the first floor. The upper floors have four slightly recessed framed sash windows, which do not have glazing bars. The ground floor has a modern shop front. On the west side, the gable end features a canted 19th-century bay window on the first floor, complete with a projecting cornice. The right side of the ground floor also has chamfered quoins. Inside, the front room on the first floor includes fielded panelling with a dado rail and a moulded cornice.
