Description
No. 13 on South Street is a building that was originally a house but has been converted into three shops. It dates from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The structure is built of brick and topped with a tile roof. It has two storeys and features three windows across its façade. The red brickwork is laid in Flemish bond and includes blue headers on the slightly recessed south side. The building has a parapet with stone coping and a brick dentil band, along with rubbed flat arches and stone cills. The windows are sashes set in reveals, with one old sash, two Victorian sashes, and one window that has been filled in with brickwork. The ground floor is entirely occupied by mid-20th century shop fronts, which include fascias, plate glass windows, and glazed doorways.
