Description
West Lodge is a building dating from around 1840, originally serving as stable buildings for Chipstead Place. It features a symmetrical elevation made of red brick, with a stucco band and plinth facing east. The building is two storeys high, with a wide gable end at the centre that has flat projecting eaves supported by brackets. There is a projecting stucco porch in the centre, characterized by horizontal rustication lines. The side wings are also two storeys tall, topped with a parapet and flat roof. The windows are sash style, set in recessed frames with intact bars and painted reveals. The ground floor windows and door are positioned under round-headed arches.
