Description

These are two early 18th-century buildings on High Street, Chevening, constructed of red brick with blue headers. They have a stone plinth and moulded eaves with bracketed gutters. The roof is a ½ hip mansard style, with three hip dormers featuring lead cheeks and square-paned casement windows. A ridge stack is present.

The ground floor features an early 19th-century shop front. This includes a central panelled and glazed double door within a grooved doorcase, and projecting, flat, octagon-glazed bays on either side. A continuous entablature runs above the shop front, supporting a shop sign and a sun-blind case. To the left of the shop front is a single 18th-century sash window with intact bars, set within an exposed frame and beneath a flat segmental brick arch.

On the first floor, there are three 18th-century sash windows with intact bars in exposed frames; the central window is tripartite. Buildings numbered 27 to 35 (odd numbers) form a group.
