Description

Vine Cottage is a pair of 18th century cottages located on the north side of High Street in Chevening, Chipstead. The cottages are constructed of red brick with blue headers and feature a plinth and a band. They rise to two storeys and have corbelled or dentilled brick eaves with a bracketed gutter, topped by a ridge tile roof.

On the ground floor, there are three 19th century wooden casements set beneath flat segmental brick arches, along with a modern door that is sheltered by a tiled, gabled hood supported by posts. The first floor has three sets of 19th century casements and a central brick panel. Additionally, there is one 18th century hip-tiled dormer with moulded eaves, which contains a 19th century casement. The building is topped with three ridge stacks.

Vine Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 17 to 25 (odd) and the Butcher's shop.
