Description

This is a long, timber-framed building, likely dating to the 16th century or earlier, which has been divided into four cottages at numbers 15 to 21, Chevening Road, Chipstead. Each cottage has two storeys and one window. The building is characterised by a high-pitched, hipped tiled roof with two ridge stacks. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is partially rendered and partially brick. The returns display galleted random rubble. Various 19th-century casement windows are present. Cottages number 19 and 22 feature plain boarded doors. Cottages 15 and 17 have modern glazed doors and bow windows on the ground floor.
