Description

These are oasts located approximately 3 yards south of Tower Cottage. The kilns date from the 18th century, while the stowages are likely mostly from the early 20th century. The structure is built of red brick in Flemish bond, with some grey bricks used occasionally. The upper quarter of the kilns is timber-framed and covered with cement-rendered lathe and plaster. The roofs are plain tiled. The stowages run parallel to the road, with square kilns at the north end. The west stowage is shorter, resulting in staggered kilns. The kiln roofs are conical and capped with lead, while the stowages have gabled roofs. The interiors have not been inspected.
