Description

This is an early 19th-century oast house, converted in the late 20th century. The two square kilns are constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond, featuring occasional grey brick headers. They have a diagonally dentilled brick eaves cornice and pyramid roofs with cowls. The stowage, situated to the left, is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a hipped roof to the left and to the junction with the kiln on the right. There are a projecting red and grey brick stack at the right end of the kilns, and a rear stack to the left. A 3-light and a 2-light casement window are to the stowage. A brick lean-to adjoins the left end of the front elevation. The interior remains uninspected. The building is listed for its group value.
