Description
Woodbine Cottage is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with an early 19th-century front and a 19th-century addition to the rear wing. The building features a timber frame, with the ground floor clad in red brick laid in Flemish bond and the first floor tile-hung. The left side elevation, including the wing, sits on a low moulded stone plinth and has approximately 2 feet of 16th-century red brick in English bond above, topped with a bressumer. The rest of the building is weatherboarded, and it has a plain tile roof. The cottage is two storeys high, with the roof hipped to the left and the hip returned along the left side elevation. There is a central red brick ridge stack. The windows are regularly spaced, featuring two 3-light casements with leaded panes. The entrance consists of a boarded door with a flat hood supported by carved brackets beneath the stack. An integral rear wing is located to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
