Description
Stanley Cottages comprise a row of two houses, built in the 19th century. The houses are timber-framed and have been clad in weatherboarding, with a plain tile roof. They stand on a stone plinth and feature a moulded wooden eaves cornice and a half-hipped roof. A brick ridge stack sits centrally, and a further stack is located to the rear on the left side. The windows are arranged regularly, with four 19th-century sash windows on each floor. The central entrance features two panelled doors, each with a simple flat hood supported on curved brackets; the entrance to No. 2 is on the left. A ribbed door is located towards the front of the right-hand elevation, alongside a 19th-century shop window towards the rear. A plain panel above the doors likely served as a name board. A short, probably timber-framed, rear extension projects to the left side of No. 2. The interior has not been inspected.
