Description
Old Farmhouse at Moat Farm is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is timber framed, with the ground and first floor of the left wing rendered. The right side features painted brick on the ground floor and tile-hanging above. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The main range has a cross-wing that slightly projects forward at the left end, with a further range behind the cross-wing that is set back. The building has two storeys, and the wing jetties out at the front and left side. The roof of the wing is hipped to the front and has a slightly lower ridge than the rest of the building. There is a projecting brick stack with a stone base on the left side of the wing and another brick stack on the front slope of the roof towards the right end of the main range. The windows are arranged irregularly and include three casements: one four-light in the wing, one fixed light, and one three-light in the main range. The entrance features a ribbed door with moulded jambs and vase stops, located in a painted brick lean-to porch that has possibly re-used wooden jambs with similar moulding, situated at the left end of the main range. There is also a half-glazed door in the rear left range at the junction with the wing. The interior has not been inspected.
