CHART SUTTON GREEN LANE TQ 74 NE (south side) 4/42 White House 26.4.68 Farmhouse II

Farmhouse. Early C16 or earlier with C17 alterations. Timber framed. Ground floor chequered red and buff brick to left, exposed framing with brick nogging to right. Exposed studding with plaster infilling to first floor. Plain tile roof. Possibly cross-wing of C16/earlier building to right, with left section adapted or rebuilt in C17 with broad bay and narrow stack bay. 2 storeys and attics, right section on rendered plinth. Continuous jetty, returning to right on moulded dragon post. Broadly-spaced studding with tension braces. Hipped roof, with gablet to left. Multiple brick stack in front slope of roof in narrow right bay of left section. Hipped dormers to hips. Irregular fenestration of two 3-light casements. Ribbed door beneath stack. Interior not inspected. Marked on O.S. map as Brick Kiln Cottages.
