Description
Mathurst Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with a facade from the 19th century and a mid-19th century wing. The main part of the building is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. It has two storeys and an attic set on a brick plinth, with a half-hipped roof to the right and a multiple brick ridge stack towards the left end. The windows are arranged irregularly, featuring four in total: a fixed light at the left end, a three-light casement, and two two-light casements. There is a panelled door set in a reeded architrave with decorative paterae and a flat bracketed hood located under the stack.
The wing projects forward to the left and may replace part of the main range. It is rendered and also has a plain tile roof, with two storeys and a gabled design. The front gable features a recessed 16-pane sash window with a cambered head, while the long left side has a regular arrangement of three similar sashes, with gables above the outer two. A central panelled door with a rectangular fanlight is present, along with two stacks towards the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
