Description

Bletchenden is a farmhouse, likely dating to the 17th century or earlier, with a 19th-century facade on the main range. It is timber-framed, with exposed studs and plaster infilling to the cross-wing. The ground floor of the main range is constructed of small blocks of coursed stone, while the first floor features banded plain and fishscale tiles. The cross-wing is flush with the main range on the ground floor but jettied on the first floor and close-studded. The wing has a hipped roof to the front, and the main range has a hipped roof to the left. A multiple filleted brick ridge stack is located at the left end of the main range. The windows are irregular, with three three-light casements to the main range, and no visible windows (or possibly blocked windows) to the wing. A boarded door is housed within a gabled stone porch situated beneath the stack. The interior has not been inspected.
