Description
The Baptist Chapel, built in 1819, is a Baptist chapel located on Headcorn Station Road. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof. The building is oriented at right angles to the road and stands two stories high on a low brick plinth. The south-east and south-west corners have buttresses. The gable is designed as a triangular pediment, with a thin stone eaves band and verges. The gable end has a symmetrical three-window front, featuring recessed 12-pane sash windows with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. The ground floor has round-headed windows, also with rubbed brick voussoirs. In the center, there is a round-headed doorway with plain double doors and a fanlight that has radiating glazing bars. A painted panel in the gable displays the date 1819. The interior has not been inspected.
