Description

New Bridge is a road bridge built in 1815. It features thin coursed slabs of Bethersden marble and has two segmental-headed arches made with up-ended Bethersden marble voussoirs. There is a cut-water on the east side and plain parapets. A datestone is located towards the center of the east parapet. It is said that the bridge was constructed by French prisoners of war.
