Description
This is a cart shed located approximately 20 yards east of Hill Green Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century, with a clock tower added in the 19th or early 20th century. The structure is timber-framed, featuring vertical weather-boarding and a thatched roof. It has a gable end facing the road and is one storey high, built on a brick plinth. The roof is hipped at both ends. At the center of the roof is a large square clock tower, which sits on a brick base and has a clock on each face, flanked by two small Doric pilasters. The clock tower has a two-tier leaded roof topped with a weathervane shaped like a running fox. There are garage doors on the street-facing gable end. The clock tower is said to have originated from Foley Park in Maidstone. The cart shed is listed for its group value.
