Description

Ivy Cottage is a house, dating from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The house has a timber frame. The front elevation is clad in red brick with buff brick dressings. The right gable end is stone to ground floor level, with weatherboarding above. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house is two storeys high and sits on a brick plinth. A multiple brick ridge stack is located towards the right end, and a slender red brick stack with buff dressings projects from the left end of the front elevation. There are two brick gables towards the right end, each with a single two-light casement window below. All windows have segmental heads. A boarded door is located to the left of centre, set within a small brick porch and featuring a semi-circular fanlight. A rear lean-to has been added. The interior has not been inspected.
