CHART SUTTON CHART HILL TQ 74 NE ROAD (east side) 4/25 Ladds Court 26.4.68 GV II

Farmhouse. Early C17 or earlier with C19 alterations. Timber framed with plaster infilling. Right return elevation red brick in Flemish bond. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys, with apparently continuous jetty with remains of moulding towards right end. Close-studded, but with double posts towards centre. Roof hipped to right, hip returning. Large projecting stone stack to left gable end, partly underbuilt in red brick, with stone slates to broad shoulders and rebuilt flue. Central rear stack and slender projecting stack to front elevation towards right end. Irregular fenestration of 2 windows; one slightly projecting 3-light casement with top lights, with moulded wooden cill, towards left end, and small 4-pane sash towards centre. Close-studded porch to right of centre, probably largely C19, with projecting moulded cornice on curved piped brackets. Moulded 4-centred arched doorways to front and to right side. Moulded jambs to ribbed inner door. Right return elevation with regular 4-window front of recessed 12- pane sashes, with blind boxes to ground-floor windows. C19 rear additions. Interior not inspected.
