Description

Marshalls Place is a house, likely dating from the 17th century, with later additions from the 18th century and a mid-to-late 19th-century facade. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond. The left-hand gable end of the front range is tile-hung on the first floor. The building comprises two parallel ranges; the front range may have a 17th-century core, while the rear range dates to the 18th century. The front range is two storeys and has a garret, standing on a stone plinth. The rear range is two storeys with an attic. The front range has a half-hipped roof to the left, while the rear range has a gabled roof with a slightly higher ridge. A slightly projecting brick stack is located on the right gable end of the front range, with a projecting stack on the left and a gable end stack on the right of the rear range. The front has a regular three-window arrangement featuring two recessed 16-pane sashes and a central 8-pane sash. The ground floor has rectangular bays under a continuous pentice. A central panelled door has a segmental head and four top lights. The interior has not been inspected.
