Description

Sutton Platt Cottage is an 18th-century building that was originally an outbuilding to Rectory Farm. It is now a cottage. The ground floor is constructed of roughly coursed stone, while the first floor is red brick. The roof is slate-covered and hipped, with a brick stack on the left end. The windows are largely 20th-century casements, arranged irregularly across the facade. Two garage doors are located on the ground floor. A central rear door provides access to the cottage on the first floor. Two windows are blocked up on the right gable end, one featuring diamond bars within a segmental head. Re-used stone is visible in the right gable end, incorporating a section of a hollow-chamfered 4-centred arch with carved spandrels. The interior has not been inspected.
