Description

The farmhouse, originally a rectory, dates back to the 15th century with significant additions made in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It was altered in the 19th century and restored in the mid-20th century. The structure is timber-framed, with the ground floor partially built in red and grey brick using a Flemish bond pattern, and partially rendered. The first floor has exposed close-studding from the mid-20th century, with rendered infilling between the studs. The roof is covered in plain tiles and sits on a stone plinth.

A wing extends from the front, slightly to the right of the centre, and was probably built in the late 16th or early 17th century using similar materials. The main range has a hipped roof, while the wing has a gable. A slender brick stack sits at the left end, and a multiple brick ridge stack is located towards the left hip. A projecting brick stack, in English bond and set on a stone base with two diagonally arranged flues, is situated on the gable end of the wing.

The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of two 3-light casements on the left half of the main range, and one 2-light ovolo-moulded mullion window on the right half. A ribbed door is set within a 20th-century close-studded lean-to, located at the junction between the main range and the wing. There is also a further lean-to to the left.
