Description
This is a barn located approximately 28 yards west of Old Farm Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, topped with a hipped painted corrugated iron roof. There is a canopy with a plain tiled roof at the center of the east elevation. The interior features four, possibly five, bays, with aisles at the front and rear, as well as at the right end. There is a midstrey in the third bay from the right. The barn has jowled posts and straight braces connecting the aisle ties to the arcade posts. There are remains of arch braces attached to the tie-beams and arcade plates. The roof structure consists of clasped purlins with non-reducing principal rafters and no queen-struts, and an edge-halved scarf joint in the arcade plate.
