Description
Becket's House is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features brown brick in irregular patches of Flemish bond, while the left gable end is stuccoed. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a lobby entry plan consisting of two bays and a stack bay, with an early to mid-19th century bay added to the right. The building has two storeys and an attic on a plinth, with a plat band and boxed eaves, and a hipped roof. There is a rear stack located towards the left end, which is central to the 18th-century house. A hipped dormer is situated in the left hip of the roof. The fenestration is irregular, featuring seven windows; four of these are 20th-century leaded glazing bar sashes (one to the left and three to the right of the porch), along with three small fixed lights above the porch. The entrance has a 20th-century ribbed door within a 20th-century brick porch beneath the stack. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a stack towards the right end. Inside, exposed timbers and a large fireplace can be found, although only the ground floor was inspected.
