Description
47 Strand Street is a corner property with origins dating back to the 16th century. It has been partly replaced and rebuilt above in the middle of the 19th century. The building is two storeys high, with mid-19th century windows on the first floor at the corner and early 19th century windows on the southeast face. There is a similar shop front beneath on the southeast face, although the glazing bars are missing. The corner features a modern shop front. The roofs are partly covered with plain tiles and pantiles. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 47 to 57 (odd), the boundary wall to No 57, Nos 29 to 35 (odd), the boundary wall on Harnet Street, and No 38 Bowling Street.
