Description
Nos 51 and 53 on Strand Street are two-storey buildings with an attic, originally constructed as one house in the mid-18th century, though they may be older. The buildings feature three windows and two dormers topped with curved pediments. They are made of painted brick and have a cornice and a panelled parapet. The windows have cambered head linings and retain their glazing bars. The doorways are set in moulded frames and have eight-panel fielded doors. There is a ground floor extension with one window on the west side. The roof is plain tiled. These buildings, along with Nos 47 to 57 and the boundary wall to No 57, as well as Nos 29 to 35 and the boundary wall on Harnet Street, and No 38 on Bowling Street, form a cohesive group.
