Description
The Haven Guest House, located at 29 Harnet Street, is a building that likely dates back to the 16th century but was refronted in the 18th century. It has two storeys and features five windows, with a painted brick exterior. The building is topped with a wide wooden eaves cornice that includes modillions, and the glazing bars are intact. The entrance has a doorway flanked by fluted pilasters, a projecting cornice, a rectangular fanlight, and an eight-panel fielded door. At the rear, there is a substantial wing with a steep pitched roof that probably dates from the early 15th century. The roofs are tiled, and the walls are made of brick and flint, painted white. The boundary wall and the buildings from 29 to 35 Harnet Street form a group with the buildings from 47 to 57 and the boundary wall to 37 Strand Street and 38 Bowling Street.
