Description
The boundary walling surrounding No 29 Harnet Street dates from the early 16th century, with some sections possibly being older. This medieval walling, made of stone, flint, and brick, varies in height and length and borders Guildcount Lane, Harnet Street, Bowling Street, and internal garden walls. Notable features include a brick arch and a corbel that projects over Guildcount Lane. To the south of No 29, the wall incorporates medieval stonework, including part of an arch and cusping from another. There is also a high-quality section of knapped flintwork dating to around 1400 and stone quoins. This boundary walling, along with Nos 29 to 35 (odd), forms a group with Nos 47 to 57 (odd) and the boundary wall to No 37 Strand Street and No 38 Bowling Street.
