Description
Brooklyn House, located at 26 Cheap Street, is a building that dates back to around the late 18th century. It is a two-storey structure with a two-window bay front, built over an earlier foundation. The building features a plaintile roof and a wood eaves cornice, with a painted brick front.
On the right side, there is a two-storey bow with panelled strips between the sashes and a reeded fascia. The left side showcases a pedimented doorcase that includes panelled reveals, a reeded frieze, a dentil cornice, and a six-fielded panelled door. At the back of the property, there is a 17th-century wing that retains its original staircase.
Brooklyn House is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 30 (even) and Nos 34 to 50 (even).
