SU 42 SW SILKSTEAD LANE HURSLEY Barn at Silkstead Farm 25 metres west of Silkstead House SP/551 II GV

Barn. Late C18. Timber frame clad in weatherboarding with slate roof, supported on 25 staddle stones and by flint and rubble walling at ends. 5 bay barn with half-hipped roof and vertical planked double doors in the central bay of each of its two long sides. Queen strut roof, the struts being angled outwards against the purlins. Jowled upright posts and diagonal tension braces from wallposts to tie beams.
