Description

Parsonage Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, remodelled in the early 19th century and altered again around 1980. It is now a private residence. The farmhouse is constructed of brick with blue headers and has an old plain tile roof. It originally comprised a three-bay 18th-century range. A two-bay range was added to the front of the two right-hand bays, and to the left end of the original range. A late 20th-century link connects the main farmhouse to a single-storey, two-bay donkey wheel house of matching brick and old tile. The front of the farmhouse has three-light casement windows on both floors, with a small light at the bottom left, and the ground-floor windows have cambered heads. A late 20th-century pent-roofed porch is at the left end of the front range, and a section projects outshot along the right end. The front range has a hip roof and a stack at the right end. Inside the donkey wheel house, which has been enlarged to create a sitting room, is an 18th-century timber donkey wheel, measuring three metres in diameter and one metre wide, located beside a glazed-over well, all of which were restored around 1980.
