Description

The Old Audit House is a late 18th-century house and office, now used as a single dwelling. It is constructed of chequer brickwork with an old plain tile roof. The building has a two-storey, L-shaped plan, with three bays facing Port Lane, a rounded corner bay, and one bay facing Collins Lane. The building has a plinth and plain pilasters between each bay. The front features an open central segmental archway, with an internal door on the left and access to the house on the right. A wrought-iron gate sits in front of the property. The left bay has a three-light segmental-head opening on each floor, and one above the door. The right bay has blind openings. The rounded corner has a full-height round-headed window. All openings are finished with rubbed brick arches and stone sills. The roof is hipped, with a small triangular face above the corner bay, and a stack on the left hip.
