Description
Church Lodge and Lychgate is a mid-19th century lodge built in conjunction with the nearby church. The building features limestone dressings and an oak lychgate, topped with old plain tile roofs. It is a 1½ storey structure with two bays, positioned end on to the road, with the lychgate on one side and a gabled porch on the other. The lychgate has two bays, with a narrow bay adjacent to the house and a gabled dormer on the other bay. The design includes an arched brace structure with paired curved struts on the tie and moulded bargeboards, along with low hurdle gates. The road-facing end of the house has a four-light trefoiled window and a two-light window above it. The gabled porch features a pointed doorway on the road side, and there is a large ridge stack with a stone base and a brick stack above.
