Description

Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century, with extensions added in the 20th century. The brick structure has slate roofs and a rectangular double pile block, with an eastern range slightly longer, and a wing added to one end in the 20th century. The garden front is two storeys over a cellar, with five bays, and a projecting wing added to the left. A plinth incorporates the heads of blocked cellar lights. The facade features a narrow central bay with blind openings, and twelve-pane sash windows in the other bays, all with segmental head openings and stone or moulded brick sills. The building has wide eaves to a low-pitched hipped roof, with a chimney stack to the right of the centre. The left wing is similar, featuring sash windows, a dentilled cornice, and a parapet. The interior, dating from around 1800, includes reused doors originating from Hursley Park and a London house belonging to the Heathcote family.
