Description
This building is a barn located 50 meters northwest of Otterbourne Manor House. It dates from the early 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. The barn features a timber frame with brick walls and an old plain tile roof. It is a four-bay aisled barn with a lean-to shed at one end that contains pump machinery, along with small hip-roofed additions to two bays on both sides. The brick walls have windows in the other bays. The roof is half-hipped and includes two ventilators. Inside, the barn has a queen post roof, likely designed to have brick walls. It features tall queen posts and principal rafters that extend to the tops of the posts, with only common rafters below. There are straight braces connecting the posts to the tie and aisle plate.
