Description

Milestone located opposite the junction with Wonston Lane, dating from around 1762. It is made of painted stone and has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The stone is white and features black painted lettering that reads "WINCHESTER 5" and "WHITCHURCH 7." This milestone marks the route of the Winchester and Newton Bridge Turnpike established in 1762.
