Description

Milestone located 600 meters south of the top of Winchester Hill on the A34, dating from around 1762. It is made of painted stone and has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The stone is white and features black painted lettering that reads "WINCHESTER 6, WHITCHURCH 6." This milestone is part of the route of the Winchester and Newton Bridge Turnpike established in 1762.
