Description

Collingbourne is a cottage dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame with colourwashed render and weatherboarding, topped with a thatched roof. The building consists of two bays and has a central screens passage. It stands two storeys high on a rubble plinth and has a central planked front door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century thatched porch. On either side of the door are 19th-century two-light casement windows. Above the left window is an original four-light mullion window, while above the right is a sliding sash window. At the left end, there is an outshot around the stack with a 19th-century door and a two-light casement window, and at the right end, there is a weatherboarded store with double doors. The roof is hipped on the right and hipped and overswept on the left. There are large brick stacks at each end, with the right stack positioned in front of the ridge. Inside, the screens passage features timber stud and muntin on one side and lathe and plaster on the other.
