Description

The Corner Building is a house with a shop occupying the entire ground floor, located on the west side of High Street in Bishops Waltham. It has timber-framed origins, with early 19th-century recladding and some 20th-century features. The walls are rendered, and a corner post is exposed at the rear. The building has a hipped tile roof at the corner. The east front is two stories high, featuring two upper windows with casements. The ground floor consists of a shopfront with 20th-century details, and there are steps that indicate a former entrance, which is now located on Cross Street. The rear section shows the earlier form of the building, characterized by a steeply-pitched roof and a gabled dormer, along with a half-hipped roof and gable on its south side. This building is included for its group value.
